In Situ Solidified Gel Polymer Electrolytes for Stable Solid?State Lithium Batteries at High Temperatures

Lithium metal batteries have attracted much attention due to their high energy density. However, the critical safety issues and chemical instability of conventional liquid electrolytes in lithium significantly limit practical application. Herein, we propose polyethylene (PE)?based gel polymer by situ polymerization, which comprise a PE skeleton, glycol bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide as well carbonate electrolytes. The obtained PE?based electrolyte exhibits good interfacial compatibility with electrodes, ion conductivity, wide electrochemical window at temperatures. Moreover, assembled LiFePO4//Li solid?state employing 50% deliver rate performance excellent cyclic life both 60 °C 80 °C. In particular, they achieve specific capacities 158.5 mA h g?1 retention 98.87% after 100 cycles under 0.5 C. solidified method for preparing proposes feasible approach application batteries.
